Business contract question in Illinois

I have a business partner that is not living up to the agreement. He has also threatened to do so. All props & accounts are in my name, his name is on nothing. We only have a written agreement on 4 of 10 props. I also have an email to a third party in which he states that there is no written agreement between us. What is it going to take to get rid of him? Do I need a lawyer in IL or can I just tell him to take a hike?
