Are we bound to an agreement when one homeowner does not sign
On 8-31-09 my husband was approached by a neighbor who was taking on a second job as a representative to a contracting company. He said he signed a piece of paper to have our insurance adjuster come out and look at the roof. I never saw a piece of paper. The adjuster came out 9-10-09 and approved the roof to be replaced. My husband then called me and told me this. I told him absolutely not do I want this company to do business with me. When I returned home from work I asked my husband if he signed anything. He said all he signed was a piece of paper to have an adjuster come out. I made him go get a copy from the neighbor. When he returned home he came in with an agreement dated 8-31-09. Both of our names are on the top of the form which was clearly stated "agreement". There were no prices but subject to insurance approval. On the back I noticed that there was a clause for a three day cancellation. How would be ever be able to cancel if we weren't even given the piece of paper? Also with my name listed on the agreement and me not signing are we bound to this agreement or can I pick my own roofing company?
